This terse statement could be interpreted as a lack of consideration. It is better to give the real, valid reason, such as an important personal or business appointment, an exam, or a sudden illness.
One page should be enough for a concise cover letter. It is sufficient to put forward up to three strong arguments and let your personality shine through. This is an excellent way to demonstrate the added value you can bring to the company.
