Firstly, you should definitely avoid polyester and opt for lightweight natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, viscose or, perhaps, silk. In addition, wearing loose-fitting garments will help you feel more comfortable in very hot weather. However, you should bear any dress code in mind and always wear closed shoes. Furthermore, I recommend using perfume very sparingly.
It is not necessary to state in your CV whether or not you have children. However, if you are applying for a job where you will be working with children, mentioning your children in your CV may be an advantage.
If you received the invitation by email, the easiest way to reply is by email. A phone call makes it more personal, but it could also lead to a telephone interview. So don’t go into the call unprepared! In any case, you should confirm the appointment straight away – ideally on the same day or the following day. Anything else will raise doubts about your motivation.
In addition to any questions the university may have specified, you should address the following points concisely:
– Why are you applying for your chosen degree programme?
– Why have you chosen this particular university?
– How will your chosen degree programme contribute to your future career?
– Do you meet all the entry requirements for the degree programme? What qualifications do you have that stand out?
Ideally, a personal statement for a degree programme should be one and a half pages long.
