Which text formatting features are recommended for use in application documents?

When text is underlined, certain letters are obscured. Furthermore, we very often associate underlined text with links. Italics give the impression of a quotation – in other words, something that isn’t your own work. In addition, this type of text often appears blurred to the eye. When using colour, you should use no more than one colour and incorporate it into all parts of your application. In my opinion, the targeted use of bold type – for example, for key terms – makes the most sense.
