Platform Games

Movement is at the heart of the platform games experience. Traditional platform games are built around jumping, running, climbing, falling, and navigating obstacles. Platform Games takes these actions and gives them a physical dimension. Players may have to cross a sequence of illuminated platforms while the environment reacts to their movements. A platform could light up when someone steps on it, disappear when they leave it, or activate another part of the level. A simple jump can therefore become more than a physical action; it can trigger an event within the game world. The player begins to understand that their body is functioning as the controller.
